Victory is needed during the everyday battles of life. As believers in Christ, we can rest in the comfort of God’s living and powerful word that He will not only fight our battles, but He always wins our battles.
The word of God tells us in 2 Chronicles 20:17, “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!” Do not fear or be dismayed, tomorrow go against them, for the Lord is with you.
We never have to fear when God sends us into battle with the purpose of reclaiming the territory of our lives that belong to Him. God’s first desire towards us still remains that we be in the image and likeness of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26). In truth, Christ made this the mission of all believers known as the “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:16-20). The battles we face in life is never about us, but the God in us who wants to reclaim all His creation because the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof (Psalm 33:5).
We have been at war ever since the enemy came to kill, steal and destroy mankind’s authority to build His kingdoms of the world (Luke 4:5). He started the war with God when he tempted Adam and Eve to eat the fruit. Although the enemy tempted Adam and Eve who ate the fruit, it was never about Adam or Eve. It was about the God they served. It was never about Jesus, it was about the God in Jesus. This still holds true for every human being that walks this earth today. It is not about us, it is about the God we serve because Satan wants to rule God’s throne. Satan knows that if he rules God’s throne, he will rule God’s body. The throne of God in man begins with the mind. The word of God tells us in Romans 12:2 to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. The word of God also tells us in Ephesians 4:23 to be renewed in the Spirit of our mind. The word of God tells us in Hebrews 4:12 that the living and powerful word of God affects the mind, spirit, soul and body of man because it is sharper than any two-edged sword.
We are purposed to be the temple of God because we are the body of Christ who is purposed to carry the presence of God (Philippians 2:5). God desires His presence to be fruitfully multiplied in His body so His presence can be fruitfully multiplied within the earth until the earth is returned to the image and likeness of heaven. When God’s presence makes us whole in mind, spirit, soul and body then His presence will overflow and be fruitfully multiplied in the earth. Before the fall of man, Adam was able to rule the earth because He walked with God and the presence of God overflowed out of him. Before Adams fall, the presence of God empowered him to fill the earth and subdue it as he had dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth (Genesis 1:28).”
When God fights our battles it is with the purpose to return us and the earth back to God because He created the earth as our promise land just like heaven is His promise land. This is why Jesus prayed for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven and for the kingdom of heaven to come on earth. The desire and promise of God is for us to be in right relationship and fellowship with Him in the promise land of heaven and earth. The word of God tells us in Romans 8:18-30 how all of creation will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Because Jesus is our King and Lord, He has left His Holy Spirit to win the battle for us, but we first must give the battle to Him by not leaning to our own understanding but in all our ways acknowledging Him so He can direct our path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Although we all are experiencing various battles in life, know that when our plans lines up with God’s plans for our life we can be at peace knowing that what God has promised will come to past in our life. We are purposed to be apart of His master plan because all of creation is His masterpiece because He is the Creator God. Be confident in God’s power to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you can ask or think according to His power that works in you; because His name in you is Victory (Exodus 17:15).
