As believers we are called to walk by faith. I am not sure about you, but for me walking by faith at times seems to not only to be challenging but sometimes impossible to accomplish. In my own walk I have found walking by faith to become the most challenging, when I was leaning to my understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6) of how I thought I should proceed forward in what appeared to be my faith walk. Our faith walk should never be something to accomplish, but rather something that we should receive.
Whenever we have the mindset to have faith by accomplishing our life goals to overcome life’s challenges, this is a strong indicator that we are having faith in our own understanding instead of God’s revealed word. Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. If we want to be able to walk by faith, we must hear the word of God that will direct our walk by faith. To walk by faith is to walk by the revealed word of God. God’s revealed word is our strength and confidence that what He has revealed will come to pass in our life. God is the Spirit of truth who sets us free when we understand the truth. Therefore, it is not in Him to lie to us. The more consistent we are to walk by the word of God we receive, it is no longer us accomplishing it, but it is us receiving faith by trusting God.
The more we trust God, the more our faith walk is strengthened because we become more confident in His presence and we understand more of what He is doing in our life. Our faith walk removes the plank, veil, mountain and any obstruction of blindness from our mind, spirit, soul and body so that we can discern how to walk by faith. The word of God tells us in Proverbs 16:3, commit your works to the Lord and your thoughts will be established. We commit our work to the Lord by committing our walk to the Lord. The more we walk with the Lord, the more He will establish our thoughts to align with His thoughts. God’s thoughts are the mustard seed faith that moves the mountains of problems in our lives.
Our faith walk strengthens us in understanding God’s thoughts to where His thoughts become our thoughts because His thoughts is the Spirit of His word that is our truth (see John 8:32 and Ephesians 4:23). The only way to be renewed in the Spirit of our mind is to walk by faith. Our walk by faith is supernatural because faith is who God is in us. This is how God accomplishes the impossible for us. The more we believe faith the more we allow God to reward us for diligently seeking Him. The word of God tells us in Hebrews 11:6:
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
God’s reward to us is becoming renewed in the Spirit of our mind where our thoughts and emotions are strengthened, giving us the power of peace, love and a sound mind to resolve, overcome and conquer issues in our life. Our walk by faith returns us back to the image and the likeness of God through Christ, who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). The mind of Christ is strengthened in us when we walk by faith so we can do greater works than Christ within the earth (John 14:12). Our faith walk is strengthened when we abide in Christ’s presence (John 15:7). The presence of God’s revealed word that is taught by God’s sent people (Romans 10:14-17). Our walk by faith is purposed in returning us to being leaders in kingdom culture and not followers of a fallen world culture. Our walk by faith gives us back dominion over every living thing. Our faith walk empowers us to fruitfully multiply the Holy Spirit’s presence who is walking through us as we partner with Him to have God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
