Sometimes it becomes easy for us to become numb to the consequences of our unbelief in God’s word and this unbelief is better known as sin. Often times, we consider the consequences of our unbelief|sin as punishment from God as well as mercy when it seems like we are getting away with sin. However, this kind of wrong believing is not rooted in the truth of God’s word. God’s word tells us in John 4:24, that God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. The word Of God tells us in Romans 8:32,”You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” We learn to know the truth when we obey the truth. This is how we become intimate with the truth.
John 14:6 tells us, Jesus is the way, truth and the life. Not knowing God’s truth is how you become intimate with a lie that will lead you astray in disobedience. This is a losing battle some people decide to play as they hide behind the mask of hurt that only the love of God will be able to heal. The hurt of not understanding the image and likeness they were created to be one with in mind, spirit, soul and body. The word of God tells us in Hosea 4:6 that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. This is the lack of knowledge of knowing who they are in Him.
Romans 6:23 in the word of God tells us the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. When you choose to have an unrepentant heart and live a lifestyle of sin your heart is hardened to knowing the pure desires of the Holy Spirit, because you decide to be entangled in a love affair with the evil desires of your flesh. These desires may be pleasurable at the time but have a proven track record of ending in your broken heart that has allowed itself to be separated from God’s heart.
For those of you who may not be living a lifestyle of sin, but fall to the temptation of sin from time to time, you will not fully enjoy an intimate relationship with God because your heart has become louder than God’s Spirit as your heart screams condemnation regarding the sin that deceived you through the power of temptation to participate in. The word of God tells you in Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it? The word of God further tells you in Hebrews 4:12 that the word of God is a discerner of the very thoughts and intent of your heart. The living word of God has the healing power to heal your heart and save it from the power of the evil tempting desires of your heart.
The word of God tells you in Revelations 12:10 of Satan being the accuser|condemner of the believers of God. The reason Satan is the accuser|condemner of the heart is because He is the ruler of the desires of the evil heart that is wicked and desperately deceitful. You give your evil heart the power to condemn you every time you give into the temptations of your evil heart. Giving into temptation is a process of allowing sin to gain a strong hold in your heart through you occasionally or habitually deciding to disobey God’s heart. Within God’s heart lives the thoughts, desires and emotions of His mind, soul and spirit that you were created in the image and likeness of. This is the thoughts that God thinks towards you as He reveals in Jeremiah 29:11 that will give you a future and a hope not an evil end.
This condemnation presented to you from the enemy of your fleshly evil heart is designed to have you hide yourself behind the mask of your evil heart’s desires. Hiding yourself from the voice of God’s saving grace found in His living word that is your ability to save the heart of your unredeemed soul. Living inside the voice of God is the purest desire that wants to heal your double minded evil fleshly wicked deceitful heart that causes you to be lukewarm and sometimes cold to the promptings of God’s heart. God desires that you make a choice to be hot for Him or cold towards Him, but He distaste your lukewarm love affair with sin because of the damage it is doing to your perception of His love towards you. God does not condemn you, He wants to compassionately love you to free you from the spirit of condemnation.
Falling to the temptation of sin is like the adulterous woman who wakes up in the morning and realizes she is in the bed with someone she is not married to. Falling to the temptation of sin is like being in bed with someone who will never fully commit to her because he belongs to someone else. Although this man may not be committed and married to another woman, ultimately He was created to be married and committed to the image and likeness of God that will empower him to love like God in this earth. Jesus tells us when we do it to the least of them, we did it to Him. Although you may transgress against people or even sin against your own bodies, as you are doing it to yourself and other people you are sinning against the God in you as well as trespassing against the God in people.
Woman to woman, I pray that we hold ourselves to the highest standard of growing into the image and likeness of our Savior by honoring our bodies as well as another person’s body. This act of obedience will save us from the condemnation of sin as well as the penalty which is a spiritual or physical death that is the consequence of sin. Sister to Sister I pray you will allow yourself to enjoy the gift of eternal life in every area of your life. Woman to woman I pray that you desire to be whole in every area of your life. Having an intimate right relationship with God and people will help you on your journey of wholeness.
